The Country Food Trust is a new Charity helping those in need by producing a Country Casserole using game bird meat, which is then donated to those in food poverty. In their first year they have fed over 20,000 people and their aim is to feed over 1 million people in the next five years
The Casserole contains diced pheasant breast, vegetables and herbs, and is nutritious, low in cholesterol and high in vitamins and is sealed in long life pouches, which do not need to be kept chilled and are easily prepared by individuals or charities.
The charity is funded by donations but it is also selling the Country Casserole on the basis that if you buy one, another will be donated to those in need.
“We are really looking forward to serving our Country Casserole at the Great British Game Food Festival” said Chief Executive Tim Woodward “knowing that every time we sell a meal at Borough market someone deeply in need will be helped”
